Abstract

The following paper presents issues related to the emerging formalized institutions related to civil protection. The text provides an overview of organizations and their evolution over the years, highlighting the impact of specific events and the emergence of new threats in the world and in Poland. The article demonstrates interesting structures performing security functions across the globe. Reference was also made to the Polish authorities' current legal acts and actions concerning the aforementioned field.
